The Golfdom Summit, now in its third year, will be held for the second consecutive year at Orlando’s famous Reunion Resort. Sorenstam, who has her state-of-the-art ANNIKA Academy headquartered at Reunion Resort, will be meeting and speaking to attendees of the Golfdom Summit about her wildly successful career in golf. Since retiring from competitive golf in 2008, Sorenstam has focused her efforts on her family and her ANNIKA brand of businesses, including the ANNIKA Foundation, the ANNIKA Academy, ANNIKA Financial Group, ANNIKA Course Design, the ANNIKA Collection of apparel with Cutter & Buck and signature high-end wines.

“I look forward to spending time with such an esteemed group of golf course superintendents from around the country,” Sorenstam said of the Golfdom Summit. “I always enjoy talking about the business of golf and just as equipment technology has advanced tremendously over the years, so too has the ability to maintain excellent course conditions and this group has a lot to do with that.”

Sorenstam joins an already stellar cast of speakers for the 2013 Golfdom Summit. Delivering the keynote address at the Summit on the state of the industry is World Golf Foundation CEO Steve Mona. Also speaking is Herb Graffis Businessperson of the Year winner, Wayne Kappelman, superintendent at Sharp Park Golf Course in San Francisco; Mark Woodward, senior vice president for OB Sports; Tray Maltby, director of grounds for the 54-hole Reunion Resort; and Seth Jones, editor-in-chief of Golfdom magazine.

“It’s a thrill to have such a widely respected person and golfer as Annika appear at the Golfdom Summit,” said Patrick Roberts, Golfdom’s longtime publisher. “To host the greatest female golfer of all time at such a small, intimate event reminds us that we truly are hosting one of the most unique and exciting meetings in our industry.”

The Golfdom Summit invites approximately 50 qualifying superintendents from around the country. Attendees network, play golf, hear guest speakers and take one-on-one meetings with some of the most cutting-edge companies in the golf maintenance industry. This year’s sponsors include: Air-O-Lator, Cushman, E-Z-Go, FMC Professional Solutions, GenNext Biotech, Holganix, Jacobsen, John Deere, Lebanon Turf, Oregon Cordless Tool Systems, Phoenix Environmental Care, Quali-Pro, Smithco and Turfco.

The Golfdom Summit attendee list was already set weeks ago, but in honor of this announcement the Summit is adding 10 more superintendent spots for late applicants.
